Frequently asked questions

We regularly receive dozens of letters about the effectiveness of hair loss treatments. Here are our answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Dermatologists only believe in 3 treatments: Minoxidil, Propécia, Androcur. But what about you?

Minoxidil: treatment is very restrictive. It leads to addiction and side effects that can become disabling, in terms of various allergies or in the case of sensitive or irritated scalps.

What's more, tests today have shown that the action of our new exclusive CERES 2 bio-complex is more effective than minoxidil at 5% in inhibiting androgens and counteracting their devastating effect on the hair loss. This inhibitory action also occurs more rapidly and increases more strongly over time than that of minoxidil.

Propecia: we formally advise all those who ask us about it against taking it. It would appear that, for some people, sexual side-effects are not reversible when treatment is stopped. Source PubMed. : " Persistent sexual side effects of finasteride for male pattern hair loss - 2011  "(French translation: "Persistance des effets secondaires sur la sexualité, avec le finastéride pour l'alopécie androgénétique chez l'homme")

Androcur: can give good results in cases of severe androgenetic falls in women, especially if the fall is associated with signs of hyperandrogenism (irregular or absent periods, acne, significant seborrhoea, hyperpilosity, etc.). It requires very serious and regular medical monitoring.

Can hereditary hair loss be neutralised?

Yes, most of the time, if it's a female hair loss or even for a hair loss in menToday, it is possible to considerably slow down the alopecia process by regularly stimulating the hair's vital functions. With our 6R and 7R Serums, it is even possible to reactivate hair follicles that have become unproductive and dormant, if they have been dormant for less than a year.

What is the most effective anti-fall treatment today?

There's no magic formula like aspirin for a headache. It all depends on the cause of your hair loss, your particular condition, your gender and your age.

However, there are effective products for every case. That's what makes the Centre Clauderer different: the treatment protocol we offer is strictly tailored to your specific problem.

Why do you want to make a diagnosis before recommending treatment?

Mainly to separate the triggering and aggravating factors, because hair loss is often the result of several factors that reinforce each other. For example, if you have an androgenetic background, other factors such as a thyroid problem or an unbalanced diet can significantly increase your hair loss. Understanding the problem as a whole is essential: it enables us to offer an effective overall treatment.

Can stress cause hair loss?

Yes, a major psychological shock (death of a loved one, divorce, surgery, etc.) can cause massive hair loss some time after the event (telogen effluvium). But day-to-day stress can also greatly exacerbate androgenetic hair loss or alopecia due to iron deficiency. Hence the importance, when making a diagnosis, of always distinguishing between triggering and aggravating factors, in order to treat the problem in its entirety.

My hair is falling out too much. I've tried several treatments.

First, check the condition of your new growth. Is it thinner than the hair that has fallen out? Hair loss is not always the most important symptom of alopecia. What's important is the hair that grows back: it should be as vigorous and numerous as the hair it replaces. If this is not the case, there is indeed a problem that needs to be addressed. In any case, don't start yet another treatment without knowing exactly the reason(s) for hair loss!

How would your treatment be more effective than those I've already tried?

Clauderer treatments are effective for two main reasons:

  • the effectiveness of the products we patiently develop, with formulas at the cutting edge of research and unrivalled performance on the market,
  • the personalised support you receive. At Clauderer, your questions will never go unanswered and you will be accompanied until your hair problem is resolved. This service is also unique.

And let's not forget the third essential factor in the success of your treatment: your regularity!

On the forums, users are not always kind to you

Most of our 'denigrators' have never tried our products, or if they have, they haven't persevered. But neutralising hair loss can't be done with a wave of a magic wand; it takes a certain amount of patience to get results. That's why our contracts are based on 4 months.

This 4-month period is not taken at random; it corresponds to the average time needed to rebalance a hair system, stabilise hair loss and allow new growth to appear. The scam comes from those who tell you otherwise!

People also say in the forums that your treatments are expensive...

This is a totally subjective opinion, as the same product may be considered 'cheap' by some and 'very expensive' by others. Let's stick to the facts:

Clauderer treatments are proving effective.

The budget for halting hair deterioration (loss, thinning, etc.) is usually between €50 and €100 per month over 4 months.

50 to 100 Euros a month over 4 months to change the life of your hair? Some may find this "very reasonable", others "expensive". We respect all opinions.

When will there be a radical cure for baldness?

Within 10 or 15 years, gene therapy applied to hair should radically alter the programme of the baldness gene(s). If you're a young man, you could undoubtedly benefit. However, don't wait passively, saying to yourself: "I'll treat it when it's perfected...", because this therapy will only act on hair follicles that are still alive. Current treatments therefore remain essential: in the meantime, they allow as many hair follicles as possible to be kept alive.

What are your success rates?

After 4 months of treatment against hair loss: 63 % of customers observed a total halt to their hair loss and 25% a significant reduction in their hair loss. For 88 % of them, hair regrowth is more numerous and more vigorous. Source: survey of 100 Clauderer customers updated in November 2015.

Having said that, no false promises, we won't give you back the hair you've lost over the years, but we are committed to recovering those whose hair follicles are still alive, even if the hair they produce has become non-existent to the naked eye.

How can a diagnosis by correspondence be relevant?

Because hair is the body's black box, and we analyse a few hairs sent in by the person concerned. By cross-referencing this analysis with the answers provided by the Clauderer Questionnaire, we are able to gain an in-depth understanding of the causes of hair loss and advise on how to tackle it.

However, if you live in Paris or the Paris region, an on-site examination of your scalp is even better: it allows an even more refined exploration of your hair loss, with an analysis of its history and an assessment of the progress you can make.

What are your hair loss products made from?

Clauderer hair loss products are all natural and identified as such on their labels. The result of cutting-edge scientific advances, they consist of a combination of patented plant active ingredients that work in synergy with each other and all combat the degeneration of hair follicles.

To be more explicit, there are no less than twenty different substances in Clauderer anti-fall formulas: essential oils, sulphur proteins, plant extracts and regrowth vitamins, minerals... The list may seem long but it is necessary, as the effectiveness of the final product comes from the synergy between these different ingredients.

- Our products go back to the basics of hair and restore its three vital functions.
- They reactivate hair follicles that you thought had been unproductive for a long time.
- They are not habit-forming.
- They use powerful natural active ingredients to compensate for the follicles' receptiveness to androgens.

At what age do hereditary falls start?

In men, it can start as early as the end of puberty. Earliness is always a negative factor: it is between the end of puberty and the age of 35 that androgens exert their strongest negative influence on scalp cells. This influence diminishes thereafter and should normally diminish gradually after the age of 40 or 45.

In women, they can begin at any age, from adolescence onwards. However, certain periods are more likely to trigger the disorder, corresponding to key moments in a woman's biological life: after the pubertyon the occasion of a giving birthduring the pre-menopause (after the age of 40) or at the menopause.

Is it normal to lose your hair as you get older?

With age, hair loses a little volume, but very little: hair ages much better than skin. This hair loss can begin after the age of forty, but should not exceed 20% of the initial density at an advanced age. If the hair tends to fall out noticeably, it's because other problems are at play and we need to look for the cause. In women, for example, hair loss at the menopause is due to an androgenetic predisposition that needs to be treated as such.

I have androgenetic alopecia and I apply Minoxidil at 5% every day. If I start Clauderer treatment, will I have to stop the Minoxidil?

The 2 treatments are perfectly compatible. Minoxidil should not be stopped abruptly, as this could cause massive mechanical hair loss. On the other hand, with the Clauderer treatment, you can gradually reduce the frequency of Minoxidil applications without risking massive hair loss.
