Thinner and Fewer
Regrowing Hair: What to Do (Women)

Overview. In order to treat your condition effectively, it must first be localised on your scalp. For that, it is necessary to check (or have checked) whether the thinning or lack of regrowing hair propagates itself in a diffuse fashion throughout the head, or whether it is localised to linkspecific zones.

This initial scouting is essential: it enables to make an initial distinction between the different factors that can cause the problem.

1. Diffuse loss in density

If the loss in density of your hair propagates in a diffuse fashion, throughout all the zones of the scalp, your problem may be due to  linkstress, an linkiron deficiency, a link thyroid problem or even another factor that a specialist will be able to identify.

2. Localised loss in density

If, however, it is localised to specific zones, your problem is more than likely due to an excessive responsiveness of your hair follicles to androgen hormones. The zones that are sensitive to those hormones can vary from one woman to another: either on the top of the head (parietal region and vertex), either on the front of the head (frontal region, temporal zone), or even the temps and the sides (on top of the ears).

Vertex

It is the most common form
• The absence of regrowing hair begins with an enlargement of the central parting
•  It spreads little by little to the whole of the top of the head
•  It is sometimes also localised to the back
•  It leaves out all of the hair on the frontal zone.

Here, inversely, the thinning out manifests itself in the frontal zone (as it does in men), by a progressive lack of regrowing hair at the temporal level.

In some women, when the stress factor adds on to the sensitivity to androgen, the hair’s thinning and the absence of regrowing hair can be localised to the hair (on the temporal zone and above the ears).

Worth noting: because the nape’s hair is always left out (except from very rare cases, starting at menopause), your nape can be used as a benchmark to measure the hair’s thinning, and the absence of regrowing hair on the other zones.

3. Reactivate your regrowing hair

Apart from in the most severe cases, it is possible to stop the hair loss with an adapted treatment. By regularly boosting their vital functions and the regrowing process, it is even possible today to reactivate the hair follicle that has been put to sleep, for as long as it has not been so for more than one year. One must thus react fast: the earlier the stimulation of the regrowing hair is initiated, the more chances one has of keeping the hair that is still on the head.

For that, it is first necessary to have a linktrue hair diagnosis, and detect the factors causing the condition, and thus treat it accordingly: an androgen-associated alopecia is not treated like an alopecia due to a lack of iron. It is also essential to locate the aggravating factors, if there are any, in order to be able to treat the whole of the problem.
